A group of young men who set off on a bushwalk ahead of a fishing trip have been rescued after two of them spent the night lost in NSW’s Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park.
The four friends – 18-year-olds Hawke, Oscar, Dylan and 19-year-old Liam – sparked a multi-agency rescue operation after they attempted to take a shortcut to a creek and strayed from a bushwalking track about 3pm yesterday.
They had somehow found themselves at the bottom of a 50-metre cliff without phone reception or a path back.
To make matters worse, Liam who is a diabetic, had forgotten his insulin medication.
