A Dutch national who volunteered to fight for Ukraine has died on the battlefield, the foreign affairs ministry has confirmed.
The man is said to have joined the Ukrainian Foreign Legion and died on May 20 near Chasiv Yar in the north of the Donetsk region.
He is the third Dutch national known to have died fighting against Russia, but the foreign ministry does not have an overview of how many volunteers have gone, and how many have been killed.
Several dozen Dutch nationals went to the region shortly after the war began.
