Wild footage of a bathroom brawl on social media has led police to the doors of five men in Melbourne.

A disturbing video has captured the moment a violent brawl erupted inside a popular Melbourne cocktail bar, spilling from a bathroom into the main dining area as terrified patrons watched on.

Footage of the incident shows a group of men fighting inside a bathroom before the violence makes its way into the venue, with punches thrown and bodies seen wrestling on the floor.

Nearby diners can be seen scrambling, while others attempt to pull the men apart as the violence escalates.

Police allege the incident took place at Leftbank Cocktail Bar on Southbank Boulevard on November 15.

The popular restaurant and bar describes itself as offering “eclectic cuisine in a vast, stylish restaurant and bar with charcoal lounges and a mirrored ceiling.”

In a statement, Victoria Police alleged that four men from NSW were assaulted inside the bathroom by two other men, before the altercation continued.

By the time officers arrived at the scene, all those involved had fled.

The four alleged victims later presented themselves at hospital several hours after the incident.

A 28-year-old man suffered non-life-threatening injuries, while the remaining three men – aged 24, 26, and 32 – sustained minor injuries.

Melbourne’s Divisional Response Unit detectives launched an investigation into the alleged affray, which gained traction after footage of the incident went viral on social media.

As part of the investigation, police executed eight search warrants on Wednesday across Melbourne’s western suburbs.

Raids were carried out at three properties in Point Cook, two in Altona North, and one property each in Altona Meadows, Hoppers Crossing and Laverton.

Five men – aged 29, 22, and three aged 18 – were arrested during the operation.

All five have been charged with violent disorder and affray and were granted bail, due to appear at the Melbourne’s Magistrates’ Court in June.

Police have confirmed the investigation remains ongoing, with further arrests expected as detectives continue to review evidence and footage.

The incident comes as Melbourne grapples with a surge in violent crime, with a series of recent incidents intensifying concerns about public safety.

Earlier this week, the 18-year-old daughter of a prominent Melbourne doctor was stabbed 11 times as she returned from a night out.

Police allege the teen was confronted by a man known to her and stabbed in the driveway of her family’s home shortly after 1am on Wednesday.

Her screams alerted family members and neighbours, and she was taken to hospital, where she remains in a serious but stable condition.

Police later confirmed the 18-year-old man they were searching for in connection with the attack had been found dead in Melbourne’s northwest.

Victoria’s Acting Premier Ben Carroll said the government was taking action to address community concerns, pointing to a $4.5 billion investment in Victoria Police in the most recent state budget.

“We’ve made bail reform. We put knife crime in the Crimes Act,” he said.

“We’re doing everything we can to make sure that everyday Victorians – law-abiding Victorians – feel safe.”
