– The Argus Oil and Future Fuels Forum 2026, one of the most important international events dedicated to energy markets, traditional fuels, and new solutions for energy transition, organized by Argus Media, took place in London.

The event brought together global oil industry operators, traders, producers, shipowners, financial institutions, and industrial stakeholders, confirming its status as a platform for strategic discussion on the future balance of global energy.

Massimo Romagnoli, entrepreneur and international consultant in the energy, hydrocarbons, and defense sectors, took part in the proceedings from the front row, following the most important panels directly and engaging with the main players in the sector.

Key topics discussed at the Forum

Numerous key topics were addressed during the conference, including:

• the evolution of SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) and critical issues related to costs, feedstock, and regulatory mandates;

• the growing role of HVO as a concrete transition solution for transport and logistics;

• the use of FAME and biodiesel in accordance with European mandatory quotas;

• global crude oil routes and the reorganization of international energy flows;

• the growing importance of carbon credits as a financial and compliance tool;

• the relationship between fossil fuels and energy transition, increasingly integrated into a pragmatic and non-ideological management model.

A pragmatic transition

The Forum clearly showed that the current energy transition is driven by industrial, regulatory, and financial criteria rather than by the immediate replacement of fossil fuels.

Oil and oil derivatives remain central to the global energy system, while alternative fuels are being integrated as tools for regulatory compliance and industrial optimization.

A presence at the heart of the international debate

Massimo Romagnoli’s participation in the Forum confirms the company’s constant attention to the main international forums where energy strategies, rules, and future scenarios are defined, at a historic moment in which the sector is called upon to reconcile security of supply, sustainability, and economic competitiveness.
